its J.K.R.'s horrible writing style that suddenly sums up everything all-too-conveniently.

That's awesome! Um, not that I condone piracy or anything... >_>

But yeah, this'll be a kick, I can show it off on my new OQO at the Potterfest tonight! :P I wonder if Scholastic is going to take legal action against more than just the two companies that accidentally shipped the book early. Most movie companies just accept the fact that their film is going to be pirated, but these guys seem to be pretty angry about the whole ordeal. Think they'll actually go the extra mile and track down the people who photographed the book and made the PDF?

EDIT:

Erm, did you even look at it? :?

Exactly. People are saying "oh, this book's writing sucks - it can't be Rowling's work!"

Au contraire, Mugglenet, that's quite the reason it is Rowling's work! :P

If you want to actually read the book, avoid YTMND for the next few days. :P

They've got images and spoilers rivaling "Snape Kills Dumbledore".

Here's a funny, related, non-spoilerish comic: "Rejected Harry Potter Endings"

I tole my parents 100 times we should just go to the grocery store 1 minute from out house at 12:00 and get it. No they force me to come with them at 9:00 to a Borders full of so many people you could not even move, then on our way home we stop at the store to get a snack and they have a huge ass pile of the books sitting there... Yeah...

Well, I just got back with my official copy! :P It was a good time. Me and my friends were first in line at my local Meijer, where, there were literally about 500 people lined up. Went to Border's for a few hours and messed around with some crazed fans, my friend started rambling off spoilers, half the store was literally going to hit him.

Well technically, I wasn't first in line, there was one guy ahead of us who we let cut. He got off work early to get the book for his little sister who had cerebral palsy. Hope she likes it!

Is the book out now then? I downloaded the photographed version, looked at the first page and said "There's no f**king way I'm reading this like this"

*shakes fist* Curse you lucky people that live in the east!!1!!! It doesn't come out for about 50 more minutes here. I'm going to go to Walmart (because its cheapest there) and if they don't have any, I'll go to the grocery store across the street from Walmart.

Also, I can not understand someone waiting in line and working in MINUTES when referring to the release date of a friggin' book. I can barely understand it for consoles! No... you know what? I don't even understand it for consoles... or the re-re-re-re-re-re-release of Star Wars. MAYBE for consoles if you were going to sell it for $10,000 to some idiot on eBay after the stores have sold out, but come on... consoles don't even have really good games out for them until at least a few months after their release. I always wait about 2 years after its release to get a new console. By that time, the price has been cut in half or better, all of the kinks have been worked out (no more exploding PSU, disk read errors, ect.), and there are actually some good games for them.

As far as books are concerned... well, as much as it pains me to say this and may make me look un-intelligent, I guess I just don't like to read that much. I'll start and finish a good book if I actually find the time to start it, but I'm not gonna wait in a line for it. *shrug* Manga's more my thing anyway though. :P

have you seen the original photos? they are taken at an obscure angle towards a book whos pages aren't flat, and they are jpeg compressed to the bare minimum readability.

plus it says right in the torrent who helped transcribe it. :)

Got my copy on 7/21/07 1:01:35 A.M., EDT, and damn, wow...it's really odd, how to end the series...kind of like, the crappiest year ever all happened in one book.
