I'm not sure I understand how your switch is wired. You have the positive terminal of the battery leading to one switch terminal and the ground on the other? How many terminals are on the switch? Do you know if it is a SPST or DPST type switch? Can you post a picture of your setup?

I have a 7" DVD player, same layout (with the CCFL transformer on the left) and it is an innolux tft. But the encoder chip is unfortunately not the Sharp RB5P006AM. This chip has 25 pins on each of its 4 sides and has a big T on it. Other markings are "T100" "F23547.1" and "2705-VSDA2".

how many volts is the 2000mah battery you would like to use? from what I've read here, the 3.3v line is pretty sensitive and should have some sort of regulation to make the voltage provided as close to 3.3 as possible
