I don't want to short everything out
Like the topic says I need to find something to keep two motherboards from shorting each other out,
I mean thins by stack them together, I know there is an insulated foam strp of some sort, google jut thinks is doesn't exist

Plastic, maybe?
If they're small enough, cut the lid of an old container to size. (Something like a Cool-Whip container would work.)
You could also cover the solder side of one board with a couple layers of electrical tape.

I'd like to use something a little less Jerry-rigged
But these are good Ideas,
Time to eat a whole container of cool-whip!
I don't want to use cardboard since eventually the mobos would tear holes in the cardboard and then it is super short-out time!

also, acrylic is kinda expensive,
space on the mounting holes leaves a dia-electric between the two boards (air) and this may cause some electrical arcing, I highly doubt it but I wish not to chance it regardless
I think I'll stick with the cool-whip Idea, I can mount it easily to the bottoms of the boards easily, I also have some left over mat-board from Art Class, this may work out as well since wood is an insulator as well

Dielectric means it is an electrical insulator, whether it be air or plastic. Unless there are some very high voltage components on the board (more than a few hundred volts), then you really shouldn't need much space between the boards in open air. Of course, having a sheet of plastic in there won't hurt and would be a good precaution anyways (in case the boards warp for whatever reason). Wood would also work just fine, just make sure you dont put too much pressure (none at all would be best) on any of the components on the board.
I would take an electrostatic-sensitive bag and lay it over the bottom mobo and tape it around the edges. Ta-da! No touching and no static! Also, I don't think it would poke holes in the plastic if the mobos were mounted very well at all.
Or maybe cardboard inside of one of the bags placed between the boards.
Just ideas.....I have a lot of those bags...lol...
EDIT: Never mind that top idea. I just figured out how stupid that is.

actually di-electric means it is neautral to electricity, meaning that it can let electricity pass through it without a regard, ie air, technically What I needed was a conductor with a very high resistance which is known as an insulator,
the kitchen shelf liner sounds intriguing but the rolls of it I have seen were very thin and easily torn, meaning I don;t want to use that,
I also know that mounting the boards properly is very important, however, I take the rugged test and make sure that they are mounted and prevented against jarring and the like,
All in All I am just paranoid and I am trying to do everything in my ability to keep my project (which has cost me some hefty dough at this point) from frying

I would take one of those anti-static bags and put some balsa wood inside of it, then neatly wrap the bag in electrical tape.->Stick that in between them.
There are hundreds of ways to do this.
It's is all about finding the one that you're most comfortable with.
Another way would be to place a cork thumbtack board in between them, and if you'd like to, wrap it in electrical tape to make it look nicer and keep from shedding crumbs. (Available At Wal-Mart) Cork comes in sizes from 6" x 6" up to 12" x 12". (1/4" thickness. Can double up if you feel the need)
Not to sound condescending,
Just Improvise, my friend.
For example:
You may have carpets in your house. Underneath those carpets are mesh padding with many holes in them to prevent the carpets from sliding. Slice off a bit of that and sandwich it between two pieces of cork-board/cardboard/fiberglass!
Just improvise.
Hope I've helped,

I'm going to use printer paper for my NESp in between the screen and motherboard.
Do not use static bags as a seperator!!! The outside of these bags are conductive (how do you think they protect the electronics inside?). The bags only protect electronics inside by building up the electric charge around the bag. You are increasing the risk of static death to your computer parts by placing them on top of these bags.
Don't believe me? Link
