edit. Fixed the problem, just did some rewiring with a cut dpad part.

battery seems to be working fine now, I have fully charged the battery, the problem was the battery wasnt getting fully charged, like you stated! THANKS for the help.

sorry but will this charger work http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=2062121 it charges both NiCd and NiMh,they have it at radioshack, I rather go out buy and rather than order online.

Okay I have charged the battery for about 4 hours, I am now playing, and its working fine....for now..... edit, okay I played for about a total of about 30 mins, then it happened again? should I connect the 12pin which was mention to the 7805?

Okay I fixed the up problem, now there is another problem, When I press LEFT d-pad, it registers as UP? but the UP dpad works fine now.

do you mean, maybe its getting pushed on because its right behind the screen? the pressure from the screw and the back of the screen is somwhat pancaking it and pushing on it? Just to inform, I solder wires on to the contacts of the dpads. I will check if its pushing up on it.

Original N64 DPAD Problem
I wired everything up on the controller, now i am wondering why the up button seems to lock and just keep going up when i test it. this seems to be the only button that is giving me problems, it continues to just go press up the whole time.

Well yeah I didnt actually get it for that price but, anyways, what do you mean by protection circuit?I thought those are usually for lithium Lon batteries? do you mean when charging, it would let me know when the battery is full with the change of led light on the charger?

Just checked the voltage of the battery, it was 7.48, everything else on the screen as you mentioned, transformer and such seemed fined.

The picture seems to be really dark, looks like there is no light in the picture. I just tried my battery again, It worked fine for a couple of minutes, then all of a sudden it starts to fade and the screen becomes black but you can see the faded images in the screen still.

I was wondering, what if i was to just add another battery pack, just for the screen, will this work? or is the led mod the way to go? if not bigger battery just for the whole portable?

I see, but I though that 7.2v was good enough for the n64 and screen, after reading a few post? I was wondering if pin12 connected to the 5v leg will solve this? because it seems as though the screen simply shuts off after awhile. if not i'll just get a new battery.
