Re: Psone Screen help
First, I hope you have a protection circuit for that battery or if you charge it to much it might explode or let it run completely died.
Second, 28 dollars for that batttery is very expensive. You can go on ebay and get a camcorder battery 20-25 dollars, which is 8.4v when fully charged and 7200mah. That two times more than what you have.
Third, I would try what I said. Also, can you charge the battery back to 100% and see if it increases the amount of time before the CCFL in the screen turn off.

Well yeah I didnt actually get it for that price but, anyways, what do you mean by protection circuit?I thought those are usually for lithium Lon batteries? do you mean when charging, it would let me know when the battery is full with the change of led light on the charger?

Look, Im just trying to help the guy without making him go buy a new set of batteries first.Designer noob wrote:
2. Edit: I don't know how putting solder of a fuse will help? Do, you know what fuses do? That either stop it or let it through. If his screen was working for 10 minutes and then stops its not the fuse. The fuse can't break its connection and then repair it on the N64. They are the ones that break when to much voltage goes through. If you put solder of the fuse and ruin it and you make a mistake bye bye screen, not worth it. The fuse is there for a purpose so, I would keep it and then just do the LED mod.
Wait, didnt you say there werent any fuses on the n64?? Either way, I was clearly referring to the psone screen fuses. Thats why I said if it comes down to it
Charge the battery completely. Then try it again.
Im not sure how I missed this post, but its worth a shot.SDCEX wrote:I see, but I though that 7.2v was good enough for the n64 and screen, after reading a few post? I was wondering if pin12 connected to the 5v leg will solve this?
Re: Psone Screen help
Okay I have charged the battery for about 4 hours, I am now playing, and its working fine....for now..... edit, okay I played for about a total of about 30 mins, then it happened again? should I connect the 12pin which was mention to the 7805?

Re: Psone Screen help
yeah, if you charged your battery and then tried again and it happened after a longer period of time. The problem is your battery.

Re: Psone Screen help
I would try a charger made for RC batteries like yours. 4 hours may not be enough with the airsoft bettery charger you are using. Try letting it charge overnight.
I dont remember, its in the screen sticky. Check there.SDCEX wrote:Okay I have charged the battery for about 4 hours, I am now playing, and its working fine....for now..... edit, okay I played for about a total of about 30 mins, then it happened again? should I connect the 12pin which was mention to the 7805?

Re: Psone Screen help
Since your charger won't tell you when your batteries are full, waht I would do is build a 8.4v LED light indicator and put it in your portable. So, then you will know when your batteries are full charged. They are not hard to make and take like 30minutes.
I agree with schmellyfart charge your batteries overnight and then test to see how long it will run for. I think it should run for about 2ish hours before the lights go off when fully charged.

Re: Psone Screen help
No, the problem is your CHARGER.Designer noob wrote:The problem is your battery.
If you charge the thing for 4 hours and the battery still isn't full then you have a charger that supplies very minimal amps. Try a Ni-Mh/Cd Quick Charger, and you should be fine.
The problem is that the battery is simply not charged enough. Since the Cathode backlight is the thing that requires the most draw, it will be the first to go when not enough amps are supporting it.

Re: Psone Screen help
just hook the batteries up parallel or maybe its series, but what ever doubles the amps and you will have double the run time. So, I would get it.

Yeah, no.Designer noob wrote:just hook the batteries up parallel or maybe its series, but what ever doubles the amps and you will have double the run time. So, I would get it.
Thats a 9.6v battery and a 9.6v battery charger. You do not connect battery packs of different voltages together! Figure it out Noob!! Seriously, That battery has HALF the mah rating than the one hes using now!!
Please, do everyone a favor and stop spreading misinformation.
Heres a charger that will work.

P.S. try not to be an ass. Just a heads up because you might not like misinformation, but no one likes poop egress.
