It doesn't matter if you asked Turbo, because you're talking about everyone. It sounds like all you're doing is telling people that their cases are inferior to yours, despite the fact that you didn't even really make yours.

I wasn't implying, and you weren't to infer, that everybody else's case ...

I'm in no way an artsy-type guy, but I can see the stereotypical "form vs effort".

I'm impressed with Trintron's case. Is it the next iPod nano? No, but it looks good and is damn cool.

extremesonic: I never said I didn't appreciate anybody's case. You're trying to form a counter-argument where ...

Holy crap, this is completely derailing. I knew I shouldn't have introduced a topic of a higher caliber.

Listen, I asked Turbo Tax 1.0 for his permission. He agreed. I respect him and his work. This isn't a "haha, I have a superiority complex" thread, I wanted a serious discussion about cases and ...

I misspoke.

The point isn't to make the coolest case ever that looks fantastic and will get you ladies.

Think about the grander scheme of things: Mr. Heckendorn got on G4TV and that brought some expected traffic. While I am not a demographic taker for G4TV, but I think it's safe to assume that ...

I may sound hypocritical, but I'm actually not.

Case construction, even with some of the plates already made, was still a difficult task. I made it clear that I'm not stepping on a soapbox and spewwing crap.

Sure, I didn't make the front plate, backplate, and battery risers; however, I had to ...

SNESp and a discussion in aesthetics

That is my SNESp. I followed Ben Heckendorn's design, and I even bought his kit. Why? Because I wanted my SNESp to look good so I can have a reason to be proud. Did I design it? No. But it still looks "kickin' rad". This isn't a "look at me ...

Could be that you screwed up the regulator, but that's unlikely... very unlikely since most, if not all, shut down internally before you're able to blow it up.

To get power to the SNES, you go through the screen's regulator, however, the ground comes from the controller. Make sure you don't have ...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH I GIVE UP ON LIFE

Well, I didn't want to post until my project was finished, but I just managed to take off the whole Video-In wire and pad on my PSone LCD.

Hahahahahaha... ha... ha... @#%$@#%@ I freaking hate wiring fine wire stuff onto boards.

So, what have you guys done to screw up your LCDs? LCD mods are not ...

I got them today (with another 24 tact switches). I got 4, just in case. Upon further inspection, the ICs are made by Texas Instruments.

All we need is a SNES-83+.

Well, I'm kinda 50-50 on it.

Without the LED mod: ~1.75 hours * 2 = ~3.5 hours of play.
With the LED mod: ~2.875 hours * 2 = 5.75 hours of play.

I really doubt I'll be playing for more than an hour at a time. I'm also trying to build this before school starts (Thursday), so the LED mod might not ...

Ben sent me 3 of his LEDs.

I don't have my mini SNES yet, but I did some very rough math, and decided to not go with Radio Shack batteries.

PSone LCD: 1000mAh
mini SNES: ~300-400mAh (my guess since my 1st gen, christmas '92, model says 850mAh)

I found 12 Ni-HM AA batteries @ 2300mAh online for 25 bucks, including shipping ...
