Marshallballh,

Awesome Job. My N64p got abandoned nearly a year ago because my case was just a few mm too small and i just lost patience with the damn thing.

You've inspired me to start it again (if I have the time). I might even try vacuum forming. I just hope my N64 still works.

I tried soldering the cart slot on my last N64 and screwed it up. The light still comes on, but no video. I'm going to use *o*'s method next time, but like him, i think my header pins will be too big.

Also, you should saw down the Ext slot ...

I wouldn't worry about the 5VDC, it just outputs 5V. All you need is Video, either composite or RGB and left and right audio.

demonfaj, you say you are using headphones, is this the headphones onthe LCD? If so, how are you going to get the sound from the genesis to the LCD

Unidentified Assailant ...

sounds like a 3V line problem to me. Try 3 Rechargeables in series (as daguuy suggests), that'd give you 3.6, which hopefully wouldn't fry it. I belive NUS-001's can take up to 5V on the 3.3V line, but DON'T try it until someone can confirm that, as I'd hate to be responsible for someone frying ...

You got me on that one, and looking into my crystal ball, I can tell you that plugging the wires into the port will work if you do it right, and that you're older than 10!!

Incidentally when you solder direct to the board, all you do is bypass the AV jack. This lets you remove the jack, and gain a little extra space in the portable (only a little) and reducdes the chance of the cable pulling out.

However if you have the space then plugging a cable in will definitely ...
