My PC is on it's way out, and I'm stumped
Hey guys, my main PC is having a very strange death. It's a Gateway GM5024b with Foxconn C51GU01 motherboard. I shut it off one night, went to turn it on the next day, and I got lights, full speed fans, no display, no beeps, nothing. It kept doing this when I rebooted, so I tried disconnecting ...

Awkward Dreamcast with reset issue, I'm out of ideas
Hi guys, I've got a couple of Pal UK Dreamcasts here, both with the same resetting problem that seems to be pretty common with them. The first, I cleaned up and following instruction I found on google put slight pressure on the pins, and it ran great for 2 days non stop, now it started resetting ...

Re: Need advice choosing a new music player
iPod mini; I've had mine for ~4.5 years, and it's quite excellent, and probably fairly cheap on eBay and the like. I just had to replace my battery in mine a few months back; cost me a whopping $5.
New iPods are for losers. 8)

Re: Need advice choosing a new music player
Earbuds would be best, I'm gonig to be carrying it about in my pocket a lot. I've looked at some of the lower end Sennheisers, but I'm not sure if they'd give me much of an improvement over the Sonys.
And I like the ipod touch too, but it's well over my budget.

Need advice choosing a new music player
Hi guys, I need some help choosing a new music player. I've had a generic cheapo chinese player for 3 years, which has served me well, but it's getting worn out now and it's time for an upgrade. I've narrowed it down to 4 possible choices:

Re: Mega drive problem
Alright, finally got around to trying it with another cart, and worked right away, so it's the Moonwalker cart that's the issue. I'll try and open the cart and give it a good clean when I get chance. Thanks guys.

Re: Mega drive problem
If its just around the screw the white stuff isnt the problem. Check and see if theres some capacitors or somthing that leaked thogh. They might need replaceing. What purity of alcohol did you use? Less than 90% pure MAY still leav a residue even if it looks fine. What kind of tv connection are you ...

Re: What "bad" games do you love?
Definitely Michael Jackson's Moonwalker.
Agree completely, I've played the Mega Drive, Master System, ZX Spectrum and Arcade Versions, my favourite being the Mega Drive version. The soundtrack is just brilliant, and the sound effects of MJ digitised are hilarious

Re: getting these to run?
Maybe you could try 3d Analyze?

It can tell the program you have a different graphics chip, and can emulate things like T&L. I've had success with a couple of things on my old S3 UniChrome Pro, so it might work for what you need.

Re: what's the dumbest thing a non-hacker has said to you?
Sorry this is a bit late, but on the topic of the idea for a portable record player, my parents have a really small one from about 1960:

Re: Help me with my car!
I'd have to agree with what these guys said, badly aligned/balanced wheels, something dodgy in the transmission, or maybe even a loose or broken engine mount?

At a Staples looking at laptops.
Sales associate: So you looking for a laptop?
Me: Yeah, sorta.
SA: You looking for a gaming machine? This baby here has 6 gigs of RAM!
Me: Is it running 32 bit or 64 bit Vista?
SA: Um... 32, I'm pretty sure...

Re: iPhone Clone Review! CECT P168! *56k* YT Video soon!
I've got a one of these clones too, a Desay M888. I think someone mentioned it earlier. It was one of the first ones to come with java support, and doesn't look as much of an iphone as the cect due to extra silver bits and a weird "Touch Life" slogan in the bottom right. Although, it has 6 speakers ...
