Dual Slot Portable

Brian,

Going with your idea, why not have the NES slot on the bottom with the cartridge going upwards along the backside of the unit, then on the top of the unit have the SNES cart going down along the backside of the unit. You wouldn't be able to have both games in at the same time, but I think it ...

Cart Slots

Every time I see these units I always wonder why they use two separate cart slots. Are the pin configurations really that different? From the pictures I see it looks like it's basically the same slot with different pins removed. It makes you wonder why they can't both use the same slot with a built ...

batteries

What kind of batteries are you using and do they fit inside the ZN40 case? I'm trying to decide what power source I should use.

Thanks,

Steve

I tired turning it off with and without a game and the same result occurs. So I guess it must be fried. I even went so far as to try wiring up an SVHS connection to see if I had any more progress and it does the exact same thing so I guess she is toast.

A slight tint? Nope. I got the typical blue screen that all tv's give you with no video input. When the power is shut off the screen rolls for a second and then is blue again.

We got all the power, and various spots on the board have the proper voltages as well. There's just no signal being sent out to the TV. but when you shut off the power the screen rolls for a second and the sound clicks.

Pin 10 on the A/V connector has 5V working plain as day. So that's where I'm a bit boggled. When I check the L/R and Video pins there is a signal there that varies in voltage but nothing is on screen.

I checked as much of the 5V line that I was able to check, but I'm thinking maybe one of my capacitors is dead and that's where my hold up is.

N64 with no audio/video...

My N64 has no audio/video output from the original cables... I tired wiring in the video straight to the output pins but still get no signal at all but when I disconnect the power I get a flicker. Is it dead? :o(

Yeah I was putting it in series, but just to the main power line, not to the individual voltages. I got a 3.3 DC-DC convertor and I power the whole thing off of 7.2V
