N64 Power Consumption

Post by kayard »

Hi,

I can't for the life of me figure out how to read the power consumption of the N64 with my multimeters. One gives me .85 Which I'm guessing is 850Ma and the other gives me .25 So I have no idea what I am doing wrong. Does anyone have an idea of how much juice these babies take? :o)

Thanks,

Steve

people say >= 1A @ 3.3v and .5A @ 12v. or things along those lines.

you are putting the multimeter in series with the power source right?

Yeah I was putting it in series, but just to the main power line, not to the individual voltages. I got a 3.3 DC-DC convertor and I power the whole thing off of 7.2V
