A slight tint? Nope. I got the typical blue screen that all tv's give you with no video input. When the power is shut off the screen rolls for a second and then is blue again.
Ah. This is something that happened to me too. Simply remove the game and turn on the system. After a few seconds, turn it off and reinsert the game cartridge. For some reason, removing the expansion/jumper pak causes this, and the only way to reset the problem is to start the system without a game in it. It might be fried from electrostatic discharge too, so don't rule that out either.
I tired turning it off with and without a game and the same result occurs. So I guess it must be fried. I even went so far as to try wiring up an SVHS connection to see if I had any more progress and it does the exact same thing so I guess she is toast.
YES!!!!! I had to turn it on, Remove the cartridge and the jumper pak while it was still on and then shut it off, plug everythign back in and Viola it works!
that's great ....but don't triple post ever again !!
to help other people like you with non-working N64s in the future, I think I should add a "Troubleshooting the N64 guide" to the sticky....I'll start on one later today and post it as a thread, and then link to it in the sticky .
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
