I think I saw them live last fall at a chiptunes show in Brooklyn. It's really interesting stuff, although sometimes I feel that it gets really repetitive.

I think the repetitiveness of that song is made up for by the awesomeness of the video.

i want those controllers. The advantage is very cool. I used to have one but don't know what happened to it.

The controllers could just be snes controllers with the parallel port mod

and a usb converter :?

And of course some software to play sounds when the buttons are pushed.

Considering all of those controllers are attached to the computer, and not to speakers directly, I presume stuntpenguin is right. They're really just (almost) normal controllers, with software similar to garageband or something.

custom software im sure. not really hard to do, if you know basic code. just create a dll for each device then its just two if/then statements for each button, coupled with an audio file.
