Variation on the cart slot question

Is it possible to just buy a snes cart slot and desolder the one on the system?
That would eliminate the worry of keeping everything intact.

I've wondered this same thing, can you buy cart slots otherthan the NES72-pin ones that're every where?
Where did Ben get the cart slot for his Exodus? Surely he wouldnt've dumped a system just for the cart slot. (although he is reckless enough.)

Yes you can buy them separately on Ebay. I believe they are on there, check and see. I got one from there a year ago.

They are slightly more expensive than 72-pin connectors, around $12 or so.

Well that makes life easier; I can finally put my cartridge slot at a 90* angle.
