Xbox laptop idea

I'm going to creat an xbox in a laptop. I'm hoping if I use the laptop screen. I now that I can get Composit video to VGA adaptors. I'm wondering if laptop screens run on VGA. I've hurd that laptop screens doen't. Is this possible, or not.

Laptop screens use proprietary digital encoding.

ill put it like this for you....

you will spend a lot money and time and will prolly require more skill the even an advanced electronics hobbiest has to complete. you are better off finding a screen which accepts analog signal (ie the psone screen).

Looks like it's a 16:9 15" 720p LCD TV.

He used a 1280x768 native res LCD computer monitor.

You could use a LCD monitor with it, but as the Xbox doesn't have native VGA output, you would need to mod it to do so (can be done).

Or just get an LCD TV.

thanks, theres composit video to VGA adaptors out there, so I'm guessing I'll have to use that. I have an LCD computor monitor that I'm planing to use.

Don't use a composite to VGA; use a component (YPbPr) to VGA adapter and you'll get MUCH better quality.

Composite to VGA adapters won't make the image look amazing again. You will still wind up with the composite artifacts, because once the data's gone, it's gone.

Like ketchup said, use a component to VGA adapter for the best quality you can get. (Unless the original Xbox can be hacked to output VGA compatible signals...)

Yes I now the quility would be degrated, but that's just the it's gong to have to be. were would I find a component to VGA adapter. I think the origanal can be hacked, on Ben's website there's a thing on this with the 360 werer you hack to put out VGA. I don't know if this is just puting a monitor jack in the back with RCA using an adaptor or if you're hacking it to put out VGA. I really don't don't care too much about how I spell some words as long as they're clear on what I'm saying. I'm not a good speller, but I do fine.
