Well first off, welcome to portableizing and second....Nah!, Your never too young! I started at 13 and I'm getting some progress! Also when it comes to price heres the lowdown.
Systems:
Atari 2600: $10-$25
NES: $10-$25
(mini)SNES:$25-$50
PSone: $10-$30
N64: $15-$30
(I think you already know the current gen system prices, but if you want them just pm me ok?)

Other Essentials:
PSone screen: $20-$50
Hip Gear screen: $25-$40
Battteries: $15-$80 (Depends on if you want an ok one or an amazing one)
LED's, tact switches, regulators, resistors, bread board,......: $10-$25

The average portable should set you back about $80-$250 not counting if you fry something or if the batteries blow up. (poor poor Gamelver  ) (I made a begginers guide to portableizing I'll try to dig that up)

Your older then some of us. The youngest person here is 11 and a lot are 13-14 like me. Also, try to use good grammar.

The portable projects can range from $70-$300, depending if you already own the console and if you damage it or not.
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

Also i suggest to look over the forum rules as an introduction to this forum and to portablizing. :)

You heard them all, proper literature is your friend! It definitely makes you more respected around here.

I'm 14 (tomorrow!), so you're around the average age. People that are 11 have made portables, so not to worry!

Ya, I'm only 14 and I've already built a portable, soon to be 2 portables. I also recommend NOT building a portable word-for-word outta Ben's book; much too expensive and not as rewarding as designing your own. Oh, and welcome to the forums!

He he, im older than all of ya, im 17 going on 18. Ben seems to be the oldest, he looks like he is balding, it could be from stress from trying to finish Port Washington though.
