questions about a flashback portable?

Post by anubis »

First, I don't have a camera, so sorry for no pictures.
An Atari Flashback is the perfect size and feel for a frankenmod portable, with a lot of empty space up-front for electronics. So here are my two questions:
1) if I put a screen centered in the front with a directional pad to the left and the button to the right, where can I fit a cartridge slot? If you look at the tutorials for installing cartridge slot everyone puts them centered in the front where I obviously want to put the screen. I need an alternative space.
2) The flashback has a secret option where if you insert a paddle controller you unlock two more games. If I wanted to have a directional pad AND a small paddle how would I wire this? Would I need a switch to select between the two or is there an easier way?
Thanks for the help.
A gun rack... a gun rack. I don't even own *a* gun, let alone many guns that would necessitate an entire rack. What am I gonna do... with a gun rack?

Well first thing I hope you have the Flashback 2, the first one doesn't have the ablility to play Atari carttidges.

Now for cart placement. Me like the the Gameboy style where the cart goes down the back. You can see this in Ben's Vagabond 2003 and his Vagabond 2000.

Use Ben's layouts on his portables for the book to see where the D-pad, paddle and buttions should go.
