PS2 A/V Pinout-Please!

Post by segasonicfan »

Hey people,

I've got my new PS2 slim all taken apart and I need to know where the RGB and sync lines are on the output. The diagram at GameSX.com is only for PSX, and while they are supposively the same, the PSX doesn't have Sync which must be different from the PSone because it had RGB when connecting to the PSOne screen...

So I need to know the A/V pinout for the PS2...anyone know where I can find one?

If that's true, then the PSone and PS2 don't have Sync...Cause it says you have to use an LM1881. But how did the PSOne Connect to the PSOne screen through RGB? I'm just trying to do the same thing (with the same screen) for the PS2...

Also, it would really help if I had the numbering from the PCB itself. But it looks like I'm on my own for that (since Lawrence is too arrogent to ever put PCB numbering on his site). Looks like it'll go up on my site when I'm done...

i still am having problems, do i connect the yellow to the composite (slot2 pin 1), red and white to slot 2 pin 2 & 3, and the sorrounding cords (grounds?) connect to slot 2 pin 4. After this and the 5v power mod... will my ps2 connect to this.

I've also been told that dvd games won't work, why? and if i have a ps2 with hdd & cd or dvd boot disks if i can get it to boot off the cd version could i play dvd games off my hdd??

Well you got the mod right, those cords are grounds... As for the DVD issue, sony dosn't want people using the ps2 as a piracy tool so they corrupted the highest level of video (RBG, as in Red, Blue, and Green) so you cant get a perfect signal from Dvds... I slaughtered that explination... But if you look around the subject has been discussed many times.
