Possibly the coolest Zelda OOT Mod ever made

Post by minkster »

I'm a member at Emutalk forums and I have been following the thread of the creation of this mod http://www.emutalk.net/high-resolution- ... d-152.html Basically its a cell shaded version of Zelda Ocarina of Time made by mostly Djipi and help from other people. Today I found out he finally finished the project and some time soon he is going to upload these textures. Here are some jaw dropping pics:

Basically it uses the N64 OOT ROM image that can be played on 1964 or PJ64. (No im not gonna tell you where to get it :P) And the graphics plugin which is Rices 6.1.0 beta10 has a special feature to enable Hirez textures. What the plugin can do is display normal n64 graphics, can dump n64 textures, and can load Hirez textures that have been redone by people to play back in the game. Djipi is the first person to almost finish the project. He made the game look so kickass

Here is a link from the author that explains how it is used http://www.emutalk.net/1964/26229-rice- ... oader.html
Just to clear things up, the images are not embedded in the rom. It loads them from a folder like this [your_emulator_main_folder]\plugin\hires_texture\[current game name]\
you have to make a folder for the exact name of the rom in order for the HiRez textures to load. It sounds confusing, but if you download the graphics plugin and read the readme file, then things should clear up.

Hopefully some time in early october. Just don't bug the author on when it will be released because its been asked countless times in that forum.

Which emulator are you using? If it is 1964, then its a framebuffer issue. I think in PJ64 it doesn't happen, im not too sure though.
