damn it stopped working agaain im thinking i just have a cold solder joint between the grounds because i just resoldered them

EDIT: ok i connected the input and ground holes where the7805 used to be and its running again

I just have a couple quick questions. What is the soldering thing that heats up in an instant and then is cold the second after so you can touch it? It was on a million infomercials and I can't remember what it is called. Secondly has anyone used it for soldering?

Coldheat. I used one, and it's a total crap soldering iron. I hated it, and would not advise anyone to get one.

i concur, i dont like them at all, it works almost like an arc welder, it basically creates an aer between the 2 peices of the tip, and MEGA FRAGILE! my radioshack was cool about em tho, they will let you return them

Its only good when using on things that give you the chance to get around it like a wire, jewlery and other stuff from the commercial. On PCB or other stuff like that its sucks.

If you want something better then the standard soldering iron. My dad mentioned a iron he uses that uses RF to heat the tip, and reheats it when there is a drop. It will be expencive but is anything very good cheap?

Ok, now for a little story.

So I turn on my hot glue, and it's on high mode for some reason, so some drips on the table, and my left index finger knuckle hits it. It burns like crazy, and I'm trying to peel it off, and it peels off a lot of skin with it! It hurts like crazy!

So, remember to keep your hot glue on low.

Yes, I've had that experience as well...burns for a while indeed, but I learned to deal with it.

I'm afraid to try desolding my cart slot now that the system is working

why did you bring up a month old thread, to ask a question not even related to hot glue. Or SNES for that matter.
