Sega Dreamcast not keeping time settings

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

my sega dreamcast cont keep the time when i shut the system off it allways reverts back to 1999, how can i fix this

The battery for the time settings is probably dead. Open up the DC and replace it. Or just forget about the time like I do :P

The battery inside the Dreamcast is rechargable, but after a few weeks without use it runs out of juice. Just keep the Dreacmast on for a while and it will eventually recharge itself.

I could be wrong but I believe it is the battery located by the controller ports.

I just checked it is by the cotrooler ports and its perpendicular to the board.

this is probly answerd alreddy but i dont care about reading stuff so here is what i would do if i where you... the battry is on the mapple board its the big round thing take it off soulder on a AA batry pack the out puts the same voltage.. you might not ever need to set the clock again.

The battery voltage is 3.3 or 5. Its one of those batteries you'd buy for you computer bios, looks like a watch battery but thinker.
