make sure the name of the folder matches the name mame looks for

general Rule: keep the default name when you unzip. If you choose to unzip.

Im still looking for some good games. Could someone name some?

Also when you start up MAME, be sure to press F5. It refreshes the list of games.

I really liked Alien Vs. Predator. It's a nice little brawling game.

Yeah, i have the same problem with MAME32 also. i can try to open a game, and it tells me that every game i have is corrupt. but the games i try to play work fine in mame 0.97 for DOS. i might just have to revert to my 90's command line-self. *sigh*
I am no one, and I can defeat/stop/scare/kill you.
I am nobody, and I can do it.
I am none, you are second to me.
I am who, and I could/did do that.

I have the exact opposite problem. The DOS never wants to find the files i tell it to.

File-->Audit Games also works like F5. Also, a lot of games are inherintly non-working as you see with the titles marked with a red box. You also need the proper bios to play many games (especially neogeo). You can get every bios here: http://users.aias.gr/lagakis/bk/files.htm

After that your games should all work.
