Return of the PSOne screen??????

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Yup. Its the exact same guts. I just got done tearing it down. I will be starting a new thread with very detailed pictures here later tonight. :)

It seems to be cheaper buying this screen brand new than it is to bid on eBay for a used PsOne screen. haha.

Ok, I will start a new thread tonight about this screen with my pictures of the tear down. I just wanted to let everyone know....I just completed the white LED mod on this screen and it works perfect.

The wiring isnt identical, but if you are going to build a portable anyway, you already know how to rewire something. The board and screen are identical to the PsONE screen.

I did get sidetracked last night when I did do the LED mod though, once I was done I hooked it up to my PS2 just to see if it still worked. I got stuck playing Gran Turismo 4 til like 2am. haha.

I believe that they are made by a third party company who sells the TFT module to companies like Sony who want to make products out of them. Sony doesn't make everything that's in their products. A few years ago, I remember seeing an electronics company selling the modules by themselves. Of course, I haven't seen them in a while...
Just took apart my PSOne screen and looked up the screen number and the controller chips. The LCD itself and main controller chip are both made by Samsung.
