I used to have a simple program that can take an avi and convert it to gif. I took a 25min movie and made it a HUGE gif. I can't find it now.

Sorry to open up an old topic, but how do you host animated gifs on the internet? I tried imageshack, but they only do images, and i tried a video hosting site, but they dont do gifs.

Um... imageshack will take gifs, jpegs, pngs, bmps, and swf files. (as long as they're <1024k each.)

If ImageShack won't take it, I wouldn't recommend making it an avatar, if that's what you're thinking. ;) :P

Yes, if ImageShack won't accept the file, it's over 1MB, which will suck for dial up users.

1MB @ 1Mbps (approximate speed of a standard cable connection) = 8s.

Is there a limit on benheck for how big your avatar is, or how many kb it takes up, because 6kb is pretty small.

We like to say keep it under 100px width, and don't use large files, because we have dial-up users.
