I thought of something like that before except the other monitor would be on a table and the arcade machine would be able to be switched into more of a conslole you know with controllers that can be switched on and off.

But why would you want a console?

Old thread? yep.

Worth bringing back up? I sure think so! :D

what you see here is an unedited (besides cropping) picture taken of the control panel from my arcade. That's right, I'm finally working on this thing again. I will probably get a new computer that will (hopefully) play all the games quickly and flawlessly. With the computer I have right now, the games are a little slow and the sound glitches pretty often. Not only that, but it takes about 30 seconds to load a simple MAME game. Well that's it! No more! Oh yeah, I'll also be able to run Neo Geo games straight from the frontend, without having to open neoragex and use a keyboard and mouse whenever I wanna play Metal Slug :D

those controls look pretty sweet :)....now you gotta show us a pic of them with the rest of the cabinet!!!
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

The cabinet is pretty much the same as it originally was. And yep, I'm going for the classic black and blue scheme :)

Very nice work :) I like how you left the Taito golf thing up there it looks pretty neat.
So how much is left? It looks pretty complete from the pic.

Some guy fit a Computer and hacked his Saturn Arcade Controls into a Keyboard and USB Controller for every emulator, how cool is it!

lol, it's not going to be there for long, I'll have a matching MAME logo soon :D

As for what's left, a little software stuff, (making the second and first player buttons combined press escape) buttoning everything up (speakers, computer, amplifier) and putting in the Marquee (maybe some sideart and a bezel)

Yeah, that's basically what I am doing... I have emulators for SNES (though that has some problems) genesis, NES, and Atari... more coming, I hope :)

This thing looks pretty cool.

I had a dream last night that I found two water-logged cabinets in an abandoned building lot. Then, I woke up, passed out again, and had another weird dream, if I remember it I will tell.
