could you heat the 2 ends of the peices up and stick them together?

the GC only needs about 12v @2 or so amps.....just thought I'd point that out

i don't see why not if you heat them hot enough

I've tried that, it dosn't work. The plastic just breaks apart eventually.

i've been quite busy with my pGC for a couple of weeks now and i still haven't got the f*ing psone screen stupid post office

anyway i wanted to know something

my portable has a gba player, ethernet adapter, psone 5" lcd screen, two speakers from the psone screen, gamecube itself and a gamecube controller with two rumble motors (excatly the same as in the original contoller but now two of them)

i need to know how much power it consumes??

i'm not sure what kind of battery i will use.

i have 2 lithium ion batterys of 7,4V and 5.2Ah ( protable dvd player battery )

can i put those together and use them or is it to powerfull??

but what i need to know is how much volts and amps my pGC will use

and gamelver have you had any reading problems with the disk drive vertical??

I have found in my (almost done) project, that 10 AA 2500mAh Energizer batteries work just fine, and provide longer play time. Also, don't include the rumble, as it will only damage the system, being so close to the motherboard and all. You really don't hav enough room to have a spinning motor in the case of the GCp.

GC uses:
14.8-15 volts @ 3750mA (w/ PSone screen). Check out my posts in Gamelvers Handheld GC Attempt to see a highly effective wiring diagram, but just opt out the charger jack portion, and instead take the batteries out and charge them normally.

You said a screen between 4" and 6", right? Well, I'm afraid that the PSone screen is in fact 5", which, if I'm not mistaken, is between 4" and 6".

hey zenloc im making a portable gamecube as well and how are u gana set it up that it has a gba player, network adaptor, (then the obvious gc board, controller, disc reader, screen, batteries) o and controller board even though its pretty small , but anyway thats gana be a big portable and a huge handheld
(i would imagine) ill like to know whats ur case set up

also to i got a pretty good set up for batteries if my playtime estimate is right
(i got the answer from other people on this forum) if u wana know it but with all that added stuff it probley wouldnt do much good.

thrust me it won't be huge it will be smaller than the one gamelver made

see i have done some slight modifications on the gamecube to make it smaller. and oh yeah i work in cenitmeters seeing i live in europe so you might have to calculate to inchs

i'll explain what i did so far.

1. sliced the heatsink i half so instead of 2/2,5 cm it is only 1 cm

2. replaced the fan with smaller one uses about the same amh

3. removed the controller board of the controller ports seeing it has nothing on it so i wire the controller ports and the backup battery on the motherboard itself

4. cut down all the boards to the smallest size also cut of the top of the psone screen and rewired it to be placed somewhere else saves space. so i'me keeping the original backlit screen no led mod

5. the controller i'm using is a third party controller the size is the original controller split in half so very small( it is soposed to be portable isn't it)

6. also replaced most of the buttons like power reset etc..

7. now for the must crap part of the whole thing i had to rewire everything so the lens , gba player, memory cards ( wil have one built in and one outside of the case).

8. and everything from the mother baord is on also the memorycard to save space

so you see by doing al that the gamecube is very small but when i put the controller in the right position is is really right next to the screen that's why i wanted to make the screen 4" and not 5 "

and what i ment with between 4 and 6" is i have a 5" psone screen but i might be making a xbox portable aswel and 5 i think is not big enough beacause the xbox is gonna be a bit bigger that the gc one

anywayz what i was saying is that i might make a portable xbox aswel i thought of an idea that can make the xbox much smaller but i need to know first if the xbox can run of a small laptop hdd and without the dvd drive??
