ok, thanks, but now I need to know if the AMD equivelent of a 2.8 pentium is cheaper
also cennar I am putting it inside another case, so if you were stoned I could see why

Though I am extremely new to the world of portables, I have built a reasonable number of normal computers, and I can say quite firmly that the AMD equivalent of the P4 2.8GHz is both cheaper and generally more powerful.

The cheapest Intel P4 2.8GHz:

Don't let the clock speeds sway your judgement, either. Though the AMD has a slower GHz speed, it very literally performs parallel to or faster than the 2.8GHz P4's (thus the 2800+ in the name).

What is the root of all these drug jokes?

I'm not sure what you're asking. The AMD chip will always be as fast as the Intel chip, regardless of the OS installed. Intel, AMD, and Via chips will run any OS you want (besides Mac OS

)

ok, change in plans, the flat lcd might be to big or too small, they only give one measurement, so i don't know if they meansure it on an angle or ad all the sides

one other porblem, i don't know what graphics card is better and cheaper just like the CPU... oh terraflop!

There isn't any straight answer to that question ~_~

If you want to keep your PCp thin, you'll want a low profile video card.

It costs ~75 dollars, but its performance isn't exactly stellar.

If you still plan to buy a full-size video card, I'd need to know how much you are willing to spend before making suggestions.

I'm kind of going for some good, hl2 graphics but don't want it too fat

With that neat ribbon cable, you would be able to position the video card any way you like- such as mounted flat underneath the motherboard. man think of the size! how big is your board? how hefty is your PSU and what about cooling! i urge you to wait or get a mini, you can put a gforce4 on a mini and have a decent PCp

even so the mobo is still big, look around and get a tiny ass one, shuttle has a habit of taking up all the floor space it can in those cases...

In all honesty if you grab a used Laptop from ebay (a decnt to sweet one.) you could probly to a better job taking the screen off of it and sizing it down by replacing and relocating most to all of the components,

you could even use a PSone screen with a composite to vga converter, put a usb or ps/2 keyboard on it and make your own case. it would be a lot ezyr to solve heat and psu isuses with some thing that has them solved
