N64 Power - DO I need 12V and 3V?

no the way it works with batteries is like
say you have batteries that are 1.2 volt and 2 amp apeice
10 batteries in parallel would = 1.2 volts at 20 amps
10 batteries in series would = 12 volts at 2 amps
just one follow up though....
if you have a voltmeter, if you dont i RECCOMEND one....
but test your voltage on a full charge of 8 cells
and then test it on 10 cells
you want it to be close-ish to 12v, if its like 11.5 or 13 your doing pretty good..., becuase the voltage converters for the 3.3v rail, and the n64's a\v output will regulate accordingly

i really dont understand why everyone makes this so complicated, i would have never dreamed of all this sillyness, i mean, what isnt cool about a 12v main power, how bout in the car you just plug it in, how bout 12 is the most universal, and yes a multivoltage converter is possible, but im sure not as cheaply and readily available as a walkman style converter...., all im saying is, go w/ a standard of some kind....
