How to add leds to a PAL SNES ???

Post by BDC »

Hi everyone!

I recently bought an PAL snes and the case was yellow from the aging...
So now I'm goint to casemod it by adding plexiglass and painting it.

I'd also like to add a few leds... 4 underneath the sticker on the upperright corner (with the 4 colors on it)

And i'll cut out the air-roster on the front and add a grid in that place... behind that grid i want 8 leds (or maybe 12 for an equal spread of light)

SO... where do i connect those 4 + 8 leds to?
And how much V should these leds be?

I'm a total noob into this... but with the right description I'm sure I'll pull it off :)

The LEDs should just be able to connect in parallel to where the power LED is hooked up. Or you could use resistors and pull it off of any input. If you want LEDs, I can sell some to you with matched resistors for 5V or 12V input (no resistor needed for 3V).

So I am able to connect them all parallel to the power led and they'll light up very bright?
I need them to be extremely bright so that it's visible from under the sticker in the upperright corner :)

Well I doubt it will be cheap for me to buy them from you... I'm from Belgium/Europe so shipping them to here will be quite expensive :)

It's not from sigarette smoke... it's the top layer of the plastic that changed color due to contact with air :)
Anyways... the whole console is taken apart now and ready to spraypaint :)
It should be done tomorrow or the day after...

Edit: Would anyone know a place to buy a sticker with the snes or nintendo logo on a white background???
