Frozener's N64p Worklog

Post by Frozener »

I recently started an N64p and have made some decent headway. Most notably, was finishing my cart slot relocation. I used 30awg wrapping wire and it think it turned out very tidy.

I have all the necessary components (with a few things still in the mail). The case is in the works, but I don't think I'll unveil it until it's almost completed. You will be SHOCKED and AMAZED (hopefully) 8). I'll keep the updates coming.

Keeps the wires straight and reduces the chance of shorts. So yes, I do like my hot glue gun .

I was thinking the same thing earlier. But I decided that the chance of it getting that hot would be very unlikely as you said. I would probably have to be playing for a fairly extended period of time in hot conditions, which isn't really a problem where I live.

If it got hot enough to MELT hot glue, you won't be worried about there being glue all over your n64, as it will be long dead by that point.

The most that will happen is the glue may soften a little bit.

*Update*

I had to redo my cart slot relocation today. The wires were far too long on the original, and there was too much stress on them. I only had to move the slot about half the distance I allowed for in the first relocation. Here's the new pic (pretty much the same):

I guess the positive is that I'm getting cart slot relocation down, after two failed attempts in the past.

It just came of in one piece :D. Way easier than I was expecting. But I actually used a newer, cleaner cart slot because the old one was a little worn out.
