I recently started an N64p and have made some decent headway. Most notably, was finishing my cart slot relocation. I used 30awg wrapping wire and it think it turned out very tidy.
I have all the necessary components (with a few things still in the mail). The case is in the works, but I don't think I'll unveil it until it's almost completed. You will be SHOCKED and AMAZED (hopefully) . I'll keep the updates coming.
I was thinking the same thing earlier. But I decided that the chance of it getting that hot would be very unlikely as you said. I would probably have to be playing for a fairly extended period of time in hot conditions, which isn't really a problem where I live.
I had to redo my cart slot relocation today. The wires were far too long on the original, and there was too much stress on them. I only had to move the slot about half the distance I allowed for in the first relocation. Here's the new pic (pretty much the same):
I guess the positive is that I'm getting cart slot relocation down, after two failed attempts in the past.
It just came of in one piece . Way easier than I was expecting. But I actually used a newer, cleaner cart slot because the old one was a little worn out.
