lcds are more environmentally friendly (take up less space in landfills and use significantly less energy), plus i've had too many CRTs die on me to trust them.

It's a low Pixel Response Time that causes it. The Pixel Response Time is the amount of time it takes a pixel to change colors. On a CRT, it's 1 millisecond or less. On the newest LCD's it's around 8-16 milliseconds.Doofus wrote:No... The problem with LCD screens as of now, is what's called "Ghosting", which is what Sponge mentioned. It's occurs when objects on the screen are in motion, causing a screen blur wherever the motion is occuring. I've experienced this while gaming on my laptop, and some of the newer Radeons (X600, X800) have "anti-ghosting" technology in them to HELP correct the problem in games, however it doesn't fix the problem completely. I haven't looked into it a whole lot but I think it has a lot to do with an LCD monitors refresh rate capabilities.
Yes, unfortunately it does occur on PSOne screens. It's not too bad though, considering that PSOne screens have been out for quite a while now. Actually it's only a tad more blurry than a GBA screen. Also, it seems that this blurriness is harder to see on smaller screens. My 3 inch pocket tv has even less blurriness than the PSOne screen. Although that might actually be because the pocket tv is much newer.Unidentified Assilant wrote:I have a 19" CRT Monitor, it beats playing games on a LCD any day (espically Unreal Tournament), if so, would a motion problem occur with a PSone Screen? As that is what I intend to use on my PortablePC (one of my forthcoming projects.)

Yeah, on most games it's barely noticeable.
Even the high-speed Sonic Adventure games look pretty good on it. (And I haven't even tried playing them through RGB yet) It just looks like a slight blur. The same thing happens on the GBA, you only notice it when you're looking for it.
