Thanks that would be great.
I looked on ebay, and to import a N64 with only the power cable it would cost me roughly $70 aus, so its not really that much more to buy from your friend. Id be willing to pay around that price if there was a mod or adapter he has so that it wont over heat, as i found out last night that if i use my PAL power pack it will fizzle....using 240v to power a 110v machine is not good...i cant believe i forgot that ><"
I had a look at the Passport 3 Plus and i can get one for about $20 from this place im importing some stuff from but it doesnt have 100% compatibility, and because the Doraemon games are not very popular and well documented, theres a chance they may not work.

nah its right to use the aus power pack, the "inputs" are different but the outputs for all the power packs are the same, and i found out from him that av cables work between ntsc and pal n64 consoles, what could be cheaper is to buy just a ntsc nintendo 64board off someone here (like 10$) then i have heaps of n64 cases and i could mod the case so that it fits japanese games,

But wont the N64 be expecting 110v and then get 240v, causing it to screw up?
So just an NTSC N64 board and then you could case mod it?
How much would it cost for you to case mod it?
And is there anyone in SYDNEY who has a NTSC n64 or NTSC n64 board?
Thanks

hmm doubt it about the sydney try an american user, shipping for just the baord should be under 10,
and as for the power

the japanese powerpack will expect 110V the powerpak then converts that to 12v and 3.3v

so an australian powerpack works fine,

as for the casemod say 5-10$ (depending on how long, should be quick) plus shipping?

With the case mod, will that enable it to play ALL japanese and american N64 titles?
So roughly $20 all up for a N64 board shipped do you reckon?

Awesome.
IF i could just get the NTSC console off someone here for $20-$30 US or AUD shipped, couldnt i just open it up and cut out the tabs?
Theres a guide on IGN i think. Has that still got 100% compatibility?

Damn thats expensive!
I just found out that im not allowed to import anymore consoles >.>
I think im going to have to go back to the original idea and buy a PAL console and then do the PIN mod.
Ive never heard of the pin connecter mod so is there a link or reference i can take a look at so i know what its like?
Thanks

hmm i think you might mean pif mod: Basically you just get a ntsc pif chip from a member here, take apart a pal n64 and swap the chips, the opposite was done recently by ohsnap! maybe you can gey the ntsc pif he salvaged off his ntsc board (hes in sydney i think)

Oh snap! *no pun intended*
Im thinking that this would be the way for me to go, since i cant import a N64 because of the ridiculous prices.
I think in the near future, ill get a PAL N64 console only (or complete if its cheaper) off of ebay or if i see one somewhere else, then try and find a NTSC Pif and get it replaced by you if i go to canberra soon, or anyone else if their closer.
Its kind of amazing that doing something as *hopefully* simple as this can give me 100% compatibility with Jap and US games!
Thanks heaps man, now i just need to save some funds to get a few games aswell :P
