Gameboy Original + Color Screen
Hello, I’m new to the forum and wanted to ask you knowledgeable people a question or two. I love my original gameboy, fits perfet in my mongo hands but the GB color screen is just so much nicer. So my question is this, would it be possible to swap screen out so my GB original would have a GB color screen?

If you swap all the Game Boy Color guts into the original Game Boy, yes.

Really? Interesting. I may have to mod one of my old grey bricks. Do the contacts match up, or are some of them crossed?
This post brought to you by David Duchovny's glorious nipples.

Well, you must desolder the orange cable from the GBP, and solder to the two sets of pads that are on the back of the LCD, but yes, it is fairly basic.Tibia wrote:Bibin wrote:Interestingly, you *can* solder on a Game Boy Pocket LCD to get a slightly larger screen area and true greyscale.

Well that explains a lot. If you set fire to your gameboy, it obviously is not going to work.arcade wrote:Hello, I have a problem, I did the steps, on which you comment, and all good, but when I ignite it, the sound well, but the lcd does not have image, I wait for his(her, your) help.

Drue is right. XCVG made a horribly stupid joke. In fact, I wouldn't be too surprised if he just made the lame joke so he could up his post count.
rest in peace, Ronnie James Dio! \m/

No, I made the stupid joke because I am physically incapable of any more sophisticated type of humour. I have a doctor's note.
