The toggle switch of which you speak does not exist, and changing it requires manually editing files on the server, which only an elite couple people can do. (That is, Ben and whoever else has the FTP login. I don't. Stop asking.)

You'll just have to use the back button, context menu, control-click, or whatever else you want to open links in new windows, because we can't change it through the web interface.

EDIT: Yes I know about the custom BBcode function. However you can't change the built in ones like IMG and URL from the admin panel, and you can't make duplicates, so that won't do it either.

I never really thought of myself as being elite, but I have FTP access now. It was meant for bot control, but I can't imagine Ben being overly upset about this. I'll ask him, just in case. (Edit: got the OK, up to you guys now) For now, I'd like to see what the general opinion is. It'd take about 10 minutes to do, not even, already found a mod to do it, so I don't mind. My question is, would anyone be against it? Poll to be added in 3... 2.. 1.

I kinda like having the links open in the current tab. If I'm done with the thread, I left-click the link. If I want to return to the thread soon (if the link is in the first post, etc) I middle click/control+click. I'm not against the change, though.

You could control+click then.

What? And have to put down my beer just to click a link?

I have a question. Will this make each thread open in a new window too? Because that would be extremely annoying.

No, only external links posted in threads.

Like, http://forums.benheck.com/ would open in a new tab instead of in the same tab. Topics would open in the same tab unless you Ctrl+click them.

I did, too, but only because I was testing my own mod... each of those links were done in different ways :P
