Don't forget to buy a few packs of smokes to buy a female of the dog species with.

No but seriously man, I doubt you'll go to jail. The law is made to be fair, I should think. They may let you off easy, who knows?

This saddens me to a great extent. Even though I don't know you pretty much at all, I could feel the remorse and sorrow in your post. It brought me to the point, that it felt like I was losing my own brother. I will wish you well and the best of luck. Keep us posted as much as you can. I can't speak for myself, but I am sure everyone will definitely miss you. And for those who may be in close proximity of you may wish to visit, if you do happen to be placed in a correctional facility.

Wow, that seriously blows on so many levels. It was great having you over and hanging out at my home as well as at the MGC. I hope the system will go easy on you, and the families of the peeps who you hit can find in their hearts to forgive you...but if you do wind up in the clink, perhaps we'll all visit ya! I'll bring a cake! ...with a file in it...

Someone died, it wasn't just cuts and scratches after all. If the other party were unhurt or had minor injuries he would have had the book thrown at him, but should have been able to do punishment outside of prison; would have screwed up his life and job prospects, but would have been ok in the end. Even in the lenient UK you would get a few years in prison for dangerous driving, driving without due care and attention, causing death by driving, manslaughter, no insurance, etc - probably 5-12 years. The US is harsher still as we all know. The UK is tougher on people driving and using mobile phones now (prison and fine), let alone taking eyes off the road altogether to use a camera, etc...Bottom line Kurt is that the law is made to be fair as you say (in theory at least), but fairness to the families of the dead person, the injured person and their property is the "fairness"; not a teenager with no licence driving dangerously, etc. (sorry, but it's true).

This really sucks mate, we all feel for you - we all make mistakes in life, normally get away with things or can put them right, however this is really serious. Get a lawyer, get advice. You might be able to plea bargain, mitigating circumstances, or whatever. Remorse goes a long way too, if genuine.

Sorry for your news, really sucks. I am sure we are all shocked by this; after all, a moment of carelessness and your life, and others, is ruined. I suggest filling in your time you have with your family and friends, and trying to enjoy the time you have before court - in case you are unlucky. :(

I hate to be the prick of the bunch, but this is the price for not paying full attention and dangerous driving...

I am sorry for what happened though and wish you the best. Accidents do happen.

Sorry, had to do something, and time was running out. That was the best I could come up with. I think Marshall and I have something good in mind for next year, though :P

Yeah, do some legal research before you try and pull a story like that. Not cool, in any case. Like I posted elsewhere, I had a cousin in a three month coma because of an honest accident. Thanks for stirring those memories up. :x
