Hey guys, its the total noob with no skills again. I have another question.
I thought it'd be kinda cool to make a glowing n64 controller, so i'm gonna get an atomic purple controller, unless i can find a clear shell, which seems unlikely unless someone makes them aftermarket. hence the questions:

anyone know where i can get a clear n64 housing shell that fits an original controller, not a remake aftermarket controller?

What size LEDs would i buy?

how would i wire them in? i told you i have no skills!

oh, and your opinion: what color should i get?

i would want them on all the time when it was plugged in.

Please knock it off with the lolcatz grammar. It's irritating.

I'd use 3mm LEDs myself.

Do you want them always on, or do you want them to light up when you press a button? What you want determines where they'd be wired to.

The only clear controller I've seen is the transparent purple one.

What colors do you like? I'm not the one making it, my opinion shouldn't matter.

There were clear N64 controllers made towards the ends of its lifetime, along with clear orange and blue. Good luck finding them, though, nobody cared enough by then to buy them.

They had these awesome commercials with different colored sumo wrestlers holding N64s in various colors all charging at each other on a battlefield. Like, hundreds and hundreds of them.

I still remember that commercial, like 10 years later.

I'd go right off the controller cord, myself. Use the 3.3V and Ground lines.

The 3.3V LEDs that I have only come with resistors for 5V and 12V. The white LEDs (17000mcd) use 47 OHM resistors for 5V. So what would you guys say they would need for 3.3V?

They're 3.3V LEDs. It's a 3.3V line. They won't need resistors.

you always need a resistor on an led. ALWAYS.

does this guy even know what a soldering iron is? Maybe that's what he means when he says "but how would I put them in?"

Umm, no. The resistor just knocks the voltage down to a safe level for the LED. If the voltage is already in the proper range, you don't need an LED.
