Gave up on waiting for the ION

Just this week, I made a Gaming PC. I bought a xfx nForce 750i/9300 mATX motherboard w/ an intel dual core processor (2.8 GHz), a e-Geforce 8400 graphics card and 4gb of ram. Its like a NES PC but in an actual PC case. and I plan to make the OS for now windows 7.0 beta 1 (64-bit version). The ION couldn't match up to this PC.

Where did you buy those parts? Best Buy? If you are building a gaming desktop, why exactly not make a real one that has decent specs at a larger size? Ion is really made for mobile use... Not to mention, $500? A dual core Atom desktop with the Ion chipset is not gonna cost more than $350.

The only 2.8 ghz desktop Core 2 Duo is the E7400, which has half the on-die processor cache and a 200 mhz slower clock speed than the E8400 while only costing $50 less.

Why buy an 8400 GPU when you already have a 9300 built in? That's barely an upgrade, if it is an upgrade at all. Again, MicroCenter has this. For $35. That's still $35 more than you should have spent if you're not going to take shopping for a video card seriously.

You can build a much better PC than that for the money.
