Re: Nintendo Sixty Faux worklog
Quick update, sanding the controls to make them look nicer.
I think I may go the same way as Sifufs N64p, and use a C-Stick for the C-buttons. Not optimal for all games, but it should be fine for 99% of them.

Re: Nintendo Sixty Faux worklog
Why not use a GameCube (or similarly small) d-pad for the C buttons instead? Similar size, probably better. I may do that myself.

Because it would not look right.
And you would still have problems not being able to press C up+down, for example.

Re: Nintendo Sixty Faux worklog
You tend to press a C button in conjunction with Z, A or B; you don't press two C buttons at the same time (I certainly am not aware of it anyway); therefore, a d-pad would work fine - if you think about it, no real difference therefore in functionality to you using a joystick as you mentioned!

I was thinking about the possibility of games that require some things like that. Even though it's a very small chance of it actually happening, I decided to keep the c buttons the same just in case a game comes up.

Re: Nintendo Sixty Faux worklog
why not have a dpad for it then cut it into 4 pieces? so it would be a dpad but 4 buttons also?

Yea, or use a ps2 d pad and cut the plastic underneath so it looks normal on top, be very thin, and still be able to push each one individually.

Agreed. Use a playstation type dpad.thewise1 wrote:Yea, or use a ps2 d pad and cut the plastic underneath so it looks normal on top, be very thin, and still be able to push each one individually.

That's why I said cutting them underneath. That way no matter how bad your cutting skills are it will still look good on top.eurddrue wrote:but that's still all connected

Re: Nintendo Sixty Faux worklog
I think I am gonna go for the PSone dpad idea, not sure if I will cut them. Makes for easier multiple button presses, but makes games like Goldeneye less fun for strafing.
All depends on how I feel when I am sealing it up!

Excellent
