Re: Powering Car Head Unit
You can use two smaller PSUs. Just use some large diodes and a big Cap.

Well the HU isn't extra anymore, but now i have an extra 400W amp, would i use the same equation to power it up? 've seen vids on youtube powering up car amps and they look like some pretty cheap PSU does it really matter

PicoPSUs are nice. I have one in my NES PC. They also have an automotive variable voltage input one. I got mine from mini-box.com

Re: Powering Car Head Unit
That would be 228 watts. for what you gave for the 12V line. If you're asking if it's enough to power a video card, it depends on what you're putting in it. Sorry if you mentioned it, I kind of skimmed the thread.nic8082242 wrote:okay that doesn't answer my question at least not somlie enough for me (tired) do i need a certain amount of Amps on my 12V line?nic8082242 wrote:Well the HU isn't extra anymore, but now i have an extra 400W amp, would i use the same equation to power it up? This has absolutely nothing to do with a video card? I need to now if i need a certain amount of Amps on a 12V line to power a 400W car amp and if so how many.nevermind1534 wrote:That would be 228 watts. for what you gave for the 12V line. Re: Powering Car Head Unit
I thought you were asking about that. I must have been looking at the wrong post. you would need 33.333333333333333333 amps for 400W from 12 volts.nic8082242 wrote:This has absolutely nothing to do with a video card?
