WhoeHOEeeee 75% done everything works perfectly here are some updated pics.

Still waiting for my regulator components so still have to figure out if that's even gonna work. Otherwise i just have to use the normal regulator.

Sadly it's a bit different than the original design(had a little problems with the layout) will have a back case with fliptop so you can hold the case without touching the discdrive. And ofcoure the battery will go where the big empty space is next to the heatsink

Goes off to play some mariokart

Looking sweet so far. Pity that DVD drive is so thick (thanks Nintendo!). Are you going to make an enclosure for the DVD drive?

holy sh*t!!! I was playing mario kart for like 3 hours hahah times flies when you're holding a portable gamecube

Yeah the dvd drive SUCKS. I'm making the back cover tommorow. Hope the regulator parts arrive or i'll get impatiant and just get a 12v battery

I noticed nothing out of the ordinary when i was playing so as far as i can tell there are no problems with the hardware

The reason that the protable is that thick also is because my original desgin didn't fit in the case and this one sort of does(cube mobo slightly stickes out at the bottom. WELL it's can't be help maby after this one is finished i might consider making a new one which can be much slimmer but a but wider.(do i hear contest anyone

)

It's like fine scotch. Except not brown, and not liquid, and no alcohol content, and doesn't come in a bottle. And it's not 12 years old...

Well didn't really take 4 years hahah i worked on it a couple of weeks then next year again a couple then 2 years later (Present time) I started it again. So in total it took about 1 to 2 months.... still long but he it's getting there. Nobody has made the GC + PSOne screen that small before so allot of testing needed to be done for a stable portable.

And to anwser your question kyo you can hold it on the sides so playing is very doable. Just not very comfortable.....yet

that's true, it is pretty damn small. I'd say you're rivaling with the gamegearcube, though.

This IS the gamegear cube... this is the same project. I changed the topic name because:

1. it's twice the thickness of the gamegear
2. It's doesn't look anything near a gamegear anymore

So now i just call it a handheld GCP.

If you look at the beginning of the topic you could see some pics of the first case design which was thinner. But the mobo slimming was too much and ended up frieing it(multiple times)

I can say for sure that this is the smallest a GC mobo can get with it still working 100%. Cutting anything smaller will most likely end up in a fried mobo. Thrust me i fried like 3 of them

EDIT: DAMN THE DAMN DISC DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...................ahh that felt good

I might look into making the gc drive thinner i have about 6 of um lying around.

thats trippy a seriously well shrunken board or two in there doesn't hurt eh? have you been thinking about a cd player case to mate up the back of that thing so you can rest it normaly when your playing? i'm going to keep saying it because those psone screens are evil to cut into, this is a tight mod.

WHOEHOE!! got my regulator parts. Here's the first problem

I have used the pics by skyone and also fixed the 1.9v one which outputs 1.89v now. But whenever I turn on the GC the 1,89v line drops to 0.02/3v and the GC won't start up. It lite's up but no disc spin and no picture.

any idea's?? I have to power the GC from 7,2v HAVE TO
