soldering iron ?

Kyo - What I use works fine, use the same irons for all my work; and I can treat them badly as they are dirt cheap to replace!

But once you've used a good one you won't go back to a cheap one.

And a good one makes the job a LOT easier.

Alright I got the soldering iron and desoldering wick, but what wattage would be good for a desoldering iron for an xbox 360 laptop?

For any electronics project involving surface mount components, you're looking at 25-40 watts.

Get a Weller WP-25

Much better then the crappy Rat shack crap. Had this one for years before I upgraded to the Weller WES-51.

If you don't get the WP-25 make sure your soldering iron HAS A GROUND PIN. The stupid Rat shack crap can actually shock your electronics because a charge can build up on them.

Agreed. Buying quality tools is still cheaper in the long run anyways.
