Not at all. I assume you want it?

I had a PSone screen go dead from overvoltage. The board was ruined, but the LCD is just fine.

Alright. Now the question is how to package it so it's safe during transport...

and hailrazer don't let this stop you from buying one, these batteries are dependable and of good quality, me (thanks to human error) did something wrong to it...

I have about 8 of these batteries, not had this issue. I guess there must be something wrong with the cells or protection circuits; or something shorted in your setup? Contact the seller and see if you can get a replacement if the battery is at fault??

Bubble wrap is beautiful for such things. When I originally ordered this screen, it came wrapped in two layers of large bubble wrap, and had two, 2-pillow air bags in it.

On the topic of actually getting the SNES to work, I bit myself, and tried my best to work despite the screen being practically ruined. Audio is still an issue. I got the multimeter out and tested the lines. Ground is dead solid. I mean, I can pick up ground between ANY two ground points. Therein might lie my issue with the audio, because I checked the hot side of the speakers and I got ground form that as well. Why are both sides grounded? Should they be? If not, is that whats causing my audio issue?

Ideas?

Test a different audio source with the screen. Try the SNES's audio on a regular TV. That will help you pinpoint where the problem is coming from.

Uh-oh. Then the problem is with your SNES. It won't output audio. Sorry, I don't have any spares. :/

...That's...Not good...

The screen is plenty enough a spare... I cant ask for a replacement console. And I wouldn't know how to accept it, either.

I guess guys, until I can get another SNES (A mini this time, I think), this project is hiatus. I'll try to keep you entertained with other projects. Please don't let this, or the HBN64 be forgotten. They will both be finished when the time comes.

The issue - somehow - became more serious over the night. I put everything away, and didn't touch anything. I had video. Everything powered up correctly. Only no audio. That's how it was before I went to bed.

I wake up. Energized, and hoping I can somehow bypass the dead audio circuit. I plug the battery in. I check all my connections with the multimeter. Everything is solid, and nothing is shorted. I hit the switch... And nothing. No power light. No video. No LCD backlight. Just nothing. So I shut it off and unplug the battery, and start tracing the connections again. Everything is still fine. So I plug the battery in again, and trace the voltage running from the battery, to the 7.5VDC in on the PSone screen. Solid. 7.66VDC the whole way. So I turn the screen over, and try to tap power form the 7805's... Nothing. Not one singular volt. Hell, not even a thousandth of a volt.

Somehow, in the period from when I went to bed, to 6:15 AM when I was awake enough to start working on it. My PSone screen motherboard fried. I wanted to say this, more for Mario, because of the LCD hes sending. I need to find a whole unit anyway, and I think I should be honest, and make it up to him if he sends the LCD anyways. I wont deny a spare (As a spare is always nice to have, especially with homemade portables. Screens get cracked.), but I don't really need it.

So, its on you, my friend. Send it if you wish. If not, don't worry about it. Even if you don't end up sending it, its the thought that counts. And the thought means a lot to me. Thanks.

So...My replacement list is as thus:

SNES (Going for a mini this time, if I can)
PSone/Zenith screen (Which ever one I can get the soonest, for the cheapest)

And my list of still working parts:

Battery (Only charged it once, and haven't even been able to fully discharge it. It better still work.)
The controller I rigged up (Tacts special thanks to Mario).

You know I once ended up having a SNES with broken sound. It's not completely impossible for this to happen as the SNES has a seperate sound chip (made by sony!)
