I kinda wanted to shock you guys with this project just showing up DONE, but I found myself... In need of a few parts (fourteen tacts, three 220uf caps (I'm doing RGB), the proper 7805 and a battery), and insanely bored.

So, I'm sitting here frustrated at my lack of parts, staring at a SNESp that is less than an hour from being finished (Naked...but finished (IE: working)).

Shes not much to look at right now... and she'll be a bit bigger (Thicker) than a lot, at a bit over 2.5" thick (I guess the final will be around 2.75" thick). 7.75 x 6.75 currently, with a guessed ~8 x ~7 after its all cased.

In case you couldn't tell, its a standard SNES, not a mini. Don't have a mini. Didn't want to use a mini. ^_^. I think it looks pretty cool, too. I mean. Considering that it's not finished.

All RGB wires marked, and pretty much ready to link together once I get the caps. Still need to scrape the controllers' button pads so I can put tacts on it. I have less than four hours into this portable (And nearly 17 hours into making its former case into a hard drive case). I haven't burnt, cut, or maimed myself in anyway. And I'm rather enjoying this project, where the HBN64 has become a money pit/nuisance. I will finish the HBN64, but right now, I just need to build something that wont cost me a frilling fortune. Something I can enjoy NOW would be nice, too. Needs a name. I'm taking suggestions. I'm also taking any help I can get in the way of parts. The rest I think I'm capable of doing myself. It's not that hard, to be honest.

What do you guys think?

No case as of yet. I'm gonna do something that just drives my dad nuts: Wire it all up, make it work. THEN case it.

I just pulled some caps out of - get this - a DVD player's video driver card. And I was looking at the board, following the traces as best as I could. The the caps I stole from the card were part of the RGB circuit on the board. Is the extra voltage normal for everything, not just this stuff?

Still trying to get fourteen tact switches and prolly a cheapass crap NiMH battery. Other than that. It's done. With still less than four hours of work. Prolly order that online. The battery (HOPEFULLY) will be internal, but removable so you can replace it with a fully charged cell.

I'd post more pics, but really how interesting is forty-five seconds of work, and six new solder joints?

I've got plenty of tact switches. They have two leads instead of four, so it's easier to wire up. Would you like some?

Sorry for the double post, but I had a question: How well would these cells work in a SNESp?

Obviously, I'd get the two pack, and wire them to double the amps.

For the batteries, charger, and shipping, I expect ~$75. To expensive? Got a better deal? Will they work well? Am I asking to many questions? Can I have a cookie?

I wouldn't recommend batteryspace.com if you're outside the USA, shipping costs is huge and import taxes make something local a better choice.
