Hi
since i discovered that a mega joy exsists in germany I'm wondering if i should use a nes or noac
what are the advanteges of nes and noac
(4player, stereo, universal mod(can they play european games), overclocking and such things what can be done to nes what to noac)

people overclock becase they feel that the gameplay in sertain game is slowed down if there are a lot of sprites and souch overclocking is there solution I would not recamend doing it all it dose is make it run funkey
I myself prefur to draw out my plans on paper but most people use grid sheets on the computer if you want it in 3d youll have to use something like 3d studio max

The NOAC is best for most portable uses. It gets a lot of crap, but it's like 99% accurate (it only has issues with a few games). It's also so much easier to work with than an NES motherboard, because all of the solder points already have solder points, where the NES needs components to be desoldered and stuff. Admittedly, the NES has the benefit of having the 72-pin connector already, and you have to modify the Famicom port to take NES carts. But if you're planning to make a portable, that's something you're going to probably have to deal with regardless.
BTW: Isn't Mega Joy a pirate Genesis? Mine is.
In response to your original question:
4player - If you have the Satellite or Four Score (or the equivalent Euro products) then they should work the same on both, after you make a mod for the port to be the same shape.
stereo - The NES did not have stereo output capabilities. Nor does the NOAC.
universal mod(can they play european games) - If you get a PAL NOAC, then it can play PAL NES games, as far as I know. If I remember correctly, the NES only checked to see if the system was running at 50Hz or 60Hz to decide whether or not to play PAL games.
overclocking - There should still be a crystal somewhere. Changing that crystal = overclocking or underclocking. Pretty much the same as any other video game system out there.
I disagree. They are FAR more accurate than emulators. Though emulators have one thing against them- they also need to emulate the mappers. Though we shouldn't confuse this issue: NOAC isn't an emulator, it is a (correct) hardware implementation of the CPU and PPU. Most of the games that don't work are ones that employed some bug of the original hardware that wasn't documented, I'm sure. Most emulators use hacks to get around these things. Also, keep in mind that the "average" emulator only has support for the original iNES mappers or less, and that only supports about half of the NES games around. As it stands, I only know of 2 games the NOACs won't run, and I think Castlevania III is still questionable- I know MMC5 games run fine on mine. The other is Famicom-only, so if NES is all you're interested in, compatibility is quite high.most are below the quality of the average emulator the nes is accurate of course but its much larger and more work to tern into a portable

The Nes can output stereo it has 2 sound chanels. Here is a link to the mod...stereo - The NES did not have stereo output capabilities. Nor does the NOAC.

Dude, it's Duck Hunt.
its true that the noac a actual hardware designed to play famicom/nes games but for actually playing the games emulators still play the game more accuratley than MOST clones on the market not onley do they play some games funkey but the timeing is off also its (not quite correct) hardware for emulators the ones i speak of have most mappers emulated in includeing pirate mappers although this argument is pointless all I was saying way its imperfectSgtBowhack wrote:I disagree.most are below the quality of the average emulator the nes is accurate of course but its much larger and more work to tern into a portable
