Okay. Bushes last days in office are becoming a dig-fest of the ever-deepening pit straight to hell.

Did you hear he signed off of our rights? Well, more than one, but this one is just plain wrong. Basically he signed something that said that local police can start criminal files on people...For NO reason. They can literally see you walking down the street, not like the shirt you have on, start a file, run a wire-tap, and keep it "For future reference". Our right of privacy is gone.

What the hell is this? The Land of the Free is somewhat of an illusion right now. Granted, this can be fairly easily undone by Obama when he gets office, but the fact that he did it at all roasts my sizable nuts.

I think its time to buy that shirt I've always liked...

I wouldn't hold my breath expecting Obama to do anything about this.

He voted to give the telecom companies immunity when they provide phone records to government agencies for their investigations. So basically a person whose "rights" have been violated in that way has little to no recourse anymore.

This (along with voting for the bailout) are the two key reasons why he didn't get my vote. Again, don't expect things to change for the better just because Bush is leaving office...

But regarding the actual topic, doesn't bug me one bit. It's the world I've been living in since Homeland (in)Security was instituted and granted insane amounts of jurisdiction. I'm so used to it now, I can't be arsed to care. I live right on the US/Canada border, and the Border Patrol's already been doing this for at least seven years. I've been pulled over for driving a U-Haul truck past the police station. Not two blocks from where I live is a massive cement building with electrified iron fences. It's the Border Patrol's stronghold. They have complete and total jurisdiction on something like 50 miles on either side of the border. I can be at a party at a cabin in the middle of the woods, and they can show up and tell us to break it up.

Oh, there will be a rebellion in this country sooner or later, but from the other side of the aisle. I love it how you children whine and complain every time the government passes an action like the Patriot Act that has not changed your life at all (and quite frankly, they were doing it already, as is every government; ours just had the courtesy to let you retards know) but when REAL tyranny takes place like robbing people of their earnings for "the common good," it's all fair game. You know, if I went into someone's home and took their money to distribute it as I pleased, that's called robbery. You realize just how backwards that is? The government has pointed guns at far more people for refusing to pay taxes than they ever have for any sort of terrorist activity they've managed to uproot, do you all support that? And your source being MSLSD, MSKGB, PMSNBC, take your pick, doesn't speak well for your judgment. That's like me trying to cite Rush Limbaugh as an objective reporter.

At this point, I just wish someone would start up this power struggle already, I wanna get it over with ASAP so I can discern if this country is still worth my time or not.

Obama's not even in office yet and he's already had a man's records illegally pulled up and reported on and is trying to prosecute a man for being critical of the coming administration. And oh, I'm sorry, is the Fairness Doctrine now all of a sudden not in violation of our First Amendment rights? Last time I checked it was the Dems that tried to push that one through.
