Well I am new to NIN but from listening to samples on itunes and friend's ipod's NIN sounds great. Year Zero sounds like a good album I think I'll buy it.

Hey, thanks for reminding me. That is actually the name of an excellent band that I had managed to forget about.

It featured Burton C. Bell (lead singer of Fear Factory) and Geezer Butler (bass player for Black Sabbath). I believe the name of the band was actually G//z/r, but you get the idea.

Tool is better than all by far. Opiate was a damn good album, too.

In my opinion, Tool transcends the barrier between art and music. All the thought, all the hidden things and tidbits of sound effects in between songs make it more than just music when listened to in order.

I'm not trying to flamebait, but absolutely nothing makes Tool better than any other band, Tool fans are terribly closeminded about music as well and only really like Tool, A Perfect Circle and Deftones, and don't much care for much else.

Hmmmm... But I like Tool? They along with NIN are my favorite bands. Admittedly I do like APC and the Deftones as well, but there are numerous other bands I enjoy listening to (I won't list them all as I don't want to overwhelm the server LOL).

Tool is awesome and I would agree with what you say for the most part. I don't know if I would say they are better than all, but they are definitely different and try to do more with their music than just verse-chorus-verse.

And yes, Opiate rocks! "Part of Me" is one of my favorite songs of theirs.

Seriously, I haven't like much of what Metallica has put out since the 80's (Yes, I'm one of those Metallica fans).

I bought one of Ministry's albums long ago (I think I still have it). I never could get into them though. I tried but they just weren't for me.

I do enjoy that "Jesus Built My Hot Rod" song though.
