Triton wrote:Right now I am doing a sort of storytelling RP with a friend of mine over instant messenger, we made up some archtypical characters (a thief and a count) and made up a location and began crafting a story, its like collaborative storytelling and when you get into it its pretty fun, more so than writing a story by yourself because with this you have to be creative and flexible because you build your story off of what the other person writes and vice versa.
Really? Me too. I'm awaiting my friend (Same one whose starring as my enemy in the video) to finished her next part, though. I hate the down-periods. Mostly cuz I love writing so much.

For those who haven't yet understood it. Triton's explanation explains LARPing as well. Only its "Live action". I'm clarifying this that way people stop associating it with D&D. They have some similaritys. But clearly, they are very different.

An interesting fact:
Even though its not D&D, and really has no solid connections to D&D, most RPers consider the co-founder of D&D - Gary Gygax - To have laid the foundation for RPing as we know it today.

No problems on that. I need some stuff first though. Like a wig. And some black body paint.

If your curious, this is the character I'll be using:

Name: Gyn Role
Nickname/s: none
Age: 18
Race: genetically enhanced human (speed/force)
Eye Color: dark gray
Hair Color: short spiked black
Skin Color: fair, pale
Distinguishing Features: black scar under his right eye, and a tattoo on his right arm
Usual Attire: black one sleeve shirt (left), black pants, studded black leather belt, black fingerless glove (left)

Items Required to Cosplay: Black hair spray or wig that can be styled, black body paint, brushes, lightweight unmarked black shirt (I'll need to cut one arm off), black jeans, black studded belt, black gloves (I can cut the fingers off myself if I need to).

Hes the most "In-Ur-Face" dressed ninja ever.

Obviously D&D- based LARPing. Well done. I'm very impressed. Usually they suck.

So it's kinda like the renaissance festival meets stickfighting from when you were five meets pen-and-paper RPG/improv, would that be an accurate estimation of what LARPing entails?

Five year olds don't get "toys" like this:

40" full-tang high-carbon steel battle ready katana with a razor edge... Shes a beauty. (Not a "display replica")

Other than that, yes.
