Honestly... me neither. The only Zelda games I've ever beat are LttP, OoT, MM and WW... okay, so I guess I am a bit of a fan. O_o I guess it's just the NES and handheld Zelda's that I haven't beat. Okay, this post was worthless.

NOE!

jokes aside, I'm going to build a scaled model of zora's domain now.

Okay, so I did the Beta Quest thing, and I enabled Moon Jump. I took a bunch (20) of snapshots and uploaded them to Photobucket. Most of them are of Hyrule Field, but I got a good aerial view of Kakariko Village, Kokiri Forest and Zora's River as well. Trust me: Anyone that cares ANYTHING about this game should see these shots. They're amazing. I'd love to go into more detail about each of them and how I got them, but it's 5:00AM, and I need to go to bed. :P I would have posted thumbnails, but there's 20 of them... that's a lot of thumbnails, and I'm nice to 56k users.

Just look at the album here. Oh, and these are all 1280 x 1024 images, so enjoy the ub3r high resolution.

Edit: Hmm... I think Photobucket compressed my images a bit... Oh well, it's not too bad. :?

Clay probably.

You could always build a pond-sized thing. I'd still take plenty of work though. And clay would dissolve kind of, and crack when dried.

I suggest fiberglass. It can be painted, sanded, etc., holds water, and although messy is fun and rather easy to apply to a mold. (A mold of styrofoam would be easy to carve)

This will definitely improve your case skills.

Very nice screenshotz!! But there wasnt one of lake hylia or zora's domain!

Keep me in your thoughts if you ever decide to build hyrule OoTland, I'll help.

But, Before you go off and get your hopes up, try to make a scaled tabletop one. You know, to show your construction staff what to do.

Where in the world would you set up a place like this, anyways?

Last question, so are there any other idea's for how to make a scaled version of Zora's domain?

I'll get the lake for you tonight, SS, but I'm having trouble with Zora's Domain because there's a ceiling. :? I can't get a very good aerial view since I can't go up in the air very high.

I'm currently messing around in Bryce, and I'm going to try to recreate Hyrule in that first. Then will come the scaled model, then the real thing. :)

Let me think for a few minutes about the Zora's Domain model... I'll come back and edit this post if nobody has posted after me yet. Oh, and about what size is this going to be? That makes a big difference. I mean, how much room do you really have for it? Is it going to be a tiny tabletop thing, like the size of a snowglobe? Or is it going to be larger, like a large painting you'd mount on your wall? Or... maybe somewhere in between? :P

I must admit, I have not played OoT myself. I've never been a big gamer, and I'm pretty sure the only game I've ever beaten was pokemon red. No wait, I also beat pokemon gold. Yeah, those two. It's not that I don't have any other games, it's just that

1) I barely ever play video games
2) I suck at any kind of game, and I mean that. Not just in the beginning.
Like Twilight Princess. It took me 1 and a half hour before I even left the house, because I could not find the exit, so I kept searching in the dark unsuccessfully. I then got out of the house with the help of a friend, but got stuck at a different place.

Yeah. The good part about that is that games last very long for me.

Kinda like how a fishtank sits in a room, But its open. and always running like a fountain(duh.)

I'll work on it this summer, maybe. Might start before that.

If I could get a model of the entire area, do you think there is like a place that would make a wire frame of the model?

This sounds like fun, I might do it myself :P Being out of school and work and all, I have nothing better to do with my time! Right now I'm beating majora's mask.

I don't know of a place that would do that... besides maybe someone on these forums.

You need to first decide which angle you want to be facing out, because you'll need to do a cut-away view. I think it should be from the north-west side.

You'll probably need to build this in layers, from bottom to top. So, the first layer would need to be a water basin for the lower body of water. I don't know what material you should use, so for now, let's just pretend you're building this out of a material called X. :P

First, build a "container" (with no top, of course) in the shape of the lower body of water.

Then you need your ground plane. Cut out a piece of X in the shape of the entire map of the Domain. Then cut out a hole where the water basin will show through.

Now you need to start building up. Build the outer walls around the entire domain, EXCEPT for the area from the entrance around to the waterfall. This is the cut-away point. (Unless you want it to be more of a top-down thing.) And King Zora's tier is separate. I just mean the main area.

Now do the inner walls. Look at the first reference photo below. See how ceiling of the area ahead and to the left (where the circle of rocks are) is lower? Ignore that for now. Pretend that's a solid wall and that spot doesn't even exist. Same with the little spot to the right (where you would walk through to get to the shop). Build the wall that goes from where the left side of Link's magic meter is (reference photo) to the other side, where the left side of the C-Down button is.

Now you have two separated areas. But you still have more walls to build. In the smaller area, the area with shallow water and the shop that you sectioned off with the first inner wall, build the wall around the shop area.

Then you can cut out the spot I told you to ignore with the lower ceiling, the shop area, and also a hole where the start of the staircase starts that leads up to where King Zora resides.

Then you can build the lower ceiling where the shallow water is.

Now do the "platform" at the west of the map; where the entrance is. Build the bridge out from here to the hole where the staircase starts, and do the spot that branches out and leads to the shop.

Ah... that's all I've got for now... I'm tired out from all of this 3D thinking!

Tell me what you think of what I think so far. I'll get a good shot of the lake later and I'll try to get some good shots of Zora's Domain as well. For now, I found these two reference photos:
