Well I rented orange box and beat portal already, though I did get orange for x-mas. I still haven't opened it so I am trying to figure out if I should keep it or if I should take it back to gamestop and get cod4 for 360 or unreal tournament 3 for pc. I'm acquiring a copy of Bioshock. Also I was hearing things about this scary game named stalker, is it any good ?

If you mean Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, then yeah, I heard it's good. I haven't played it, though.

I don't want to make an "I'm leaving" thread, but I've sort of lost interest in this board. So if you notice that I'm gone, that's why.

I heard (and personally experienced about two hours of it) that Stalker was so ridiculously difficult even on the easiest setting that it wasn't even any fun. From my two hours of experience with the game, I must say that I agree. If you are excellent at first person shooters, you mught be able to enjoy this game, because as a game, it was pretty cool.
I will say that Bioshock is definitely one that you would want to first. But if I were you, I would get on ebay, (or Steam) and buy the old Half-Life games, then also hit a circuit city or something and pick up the Orange Box.
I don't care what CTfan said, Half-Life series is better than bioshock hands down. Not to belittle Bioshock at all, actually Bioshock is one of my favorite games of all time, but Half-Life as a whole just has so much more passion. It's characters are brilliantly developed, and it has a way of sucking you into it's world, being just realistic enough that you could believe it. After completing Half-life years ago, I have found every other FPS that doesn't have the name Half-Life in it, to be lacking. I have become spoiled by valve and I will never look back!

If you can't tell by now, Half-Life Series is my favorite game/series of all time, and I am very much a Half-Life fanboy :D

Fair enough. I made plenty of other recommendations though.

Also, DONT BUY UNREAL TOURNAMENT 3.

If you want to play UT2004 with pretty graphics, just play UT2004 with 4x AA.

Also DO NOT BUY C&C3! It is not worth giving EA your money over it.

You dont pay EA, you pay the store that bought it from EA.

Unreal 2004 is awsome, I lucked out and found it for $5, though it was the CD version with 6 CDs lol.

Yeah sure, I bet you have some EA games in your collection. No offence but why don't you jump off the "EA HATE" Bandwagon and realize that a lot of EA games are actually GOOD anyway?

In case you think all EA games must suck... here is a list.
Battlefield 2
Fight Night Round 3
Need For Speed
Command & Conquer... admit it, EA have NOT ruined the series
Crysis, I admit, it's PUBLISHED by EA, but doesn't that techincally mean it's an EA game?
And then you have the EA Sports games, it might be taste, but i've always prefered them over 2K Sports.

Battlefield 2
If you think this game is ANY good you have serious problems, I actually have played the game and could write a book about everything they did wrong and how they could have/still can easily fixed it with a patch or two.
Also, Punkbuster sucks.

Fight Night Round 3
See comment on sports games.

Need For Speed
Racing games suck unless they involve guns on the cars. (OH LOOK I CAN TURN LEFTZ)
Crash Team Racing is copulate ownage!

Yes they did, oh so ruined. It died hard when they made Generals.

Crysis, I admit, it's PUBLISHED by EA, but doesn't that techincally mean it's an EA game?
The game only does one thing right, looking good, and it can not even do that well. It can not run maxed out on ANY computer even with all the latest quad core/tri SLI video cards. I don't care who made this game it sucks hard.

And then you have the EA Sports games, it might be taste, but i've always prefered them over 2K Sports.
All sports games suck, period.
I edited your post with my opinions.

You clearly have never played DiRT or Motorstorm (in store display FTW). If I had a system they're available for, I would get them in a heart beat. In my opinion, offroad racing games are the best. They generally focus on driving skill, instead of "tuning" your cars. Need For Speed, though, is now just a game that lets you dress up a car so it looks "good".

You're correct about sports games, they're almost 100% FAIL.

ea has made some very very bad games but they have also made some great ones (and they were generally awesome when they were electronic arts in the 80s before they became huge and evil lol) and i strongly disagree with racing games being not fun, burnout has no weapons and is crazy fun, same with RUSH and need for speed before it became a wanabe fast an the furious rice racing crap

motorstorm is one of the few reasons i would get a ps3 for, that demo was crazy fun

You ever play the Vigilante 8 Games for N64? You would love them. And why don't you like Burnout? Burnout: Revenge for the Xbox 360 is like one of my favorite games ever.

Buy or "obtain":

Counter Strike: Source:
Obviously, your PC can handle this, but it's a great game. You will hate it at first because you keep dying but give it a chance. Pick it up on Steam.

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch: Once again, your PC can handle this. Great multiplayer game for the PC. Pick it up on Steam.

Unreal Tournament 3: I know you won't buy it, but I know what you will do to get it. Awesome game, definitely worth that hassle for a Usenet Account. It's Gears of War on crack.

World of Warcraft: You better install it you bastard, otherwise your brother will turn emo.

Bioshock: Do I need a reason? It's copulate awesome. Big daddy wants to play.

Assassin's Creed: Awesome, Pure Awesomeness.

Oblivion: Great RPG, Great Graphics. One of my favorite RPG Games ever made.

Battlefield 2142: Some people like it, some people hate it. You choose.

Quake 4: It's a good alternative to Doom3, and has nicer graphics.
