xbox 360 repair turnaround time

Post by easton »

So, my 360's DVD drive crapped out. I talked to Microsoft on 11/16/07, and they said they would send over the coffin (err I mean box) so I could mail the xbox to them.

Well, it's now 11/24, and there's still no box. So my questions are:

How long did it take for the coffin to arrive? And, how long before you got your 360 back in fixed condition?

My DVD drive crapped out on 11/9/07 and I put in an online service request the same day. The coffin arrived on 11/15 and I shipped it out to them on 11/16. Then it was received at the repair center early last week.

Given that there was a holiday last week I would suspect that you should be receiving your coffin in the early part of this week. Perhaps even today.

It took me a week to get the box and then 3 weeks exactly from when I shipped it out to the day it came back to me.

So about 4 weeks total.

I broke down and bought a core system during this time, Bioshock was out.

Atleast microsoft repairs the consoles. I asked about getting my slimline PS2s fixed and the guy said

"Just buy a playstation 3"

I replied

"Nobody wants a playstation 3"

and hung up

Right on the money, Jones. It came today! I'm going to try to get it over to the UPS place in a few minutes.

Godspeed, busted xbox.
